UoB Hiatt Baker Residential Block C

Hiatt Baker Block C
University of Bristol
Working with:
Oxford Architects, Ridge, Integral Build and Aecom
Circa £1.5m

A full refurbishment project at the University’s largest hall of residence, Hiatt Baker located in Stoke Bishop in Bristol.  This was a tight timescale project requiring absolute certainty of delivery for the deadline.

Blocks A, B and C, were built in the 1960’s and a planned programme of renovations has seen Blocks A and B converted into self-catered blocks of accommodation.

Block C has undergone alteration to convert existing bedrooms into 54 self-catered units.

The University required a much improved environment for their students with a future lifespan of 20 years as the existing facilities were limited and dated. Minimising ongoing maintenance costs and providing a consistent product delivery were key requirements.

Student bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen diners have been refurbished to provide light bright facilities for new Students starting from September 2019.
