Project: Mountbatten School Brabourne building refurb, Changing Rooms and Science Labs
Client: Mountbatten School
Designing with: Kendall Kingscott Architects
Our Role: Building Services Design
Value: From £750k to £1.5million
We have been pleased to work with Mountbatten School in Romsey on various improvement projects over the past couple of years.
Initially, we carried out the building services design and construction stage duties for the refurbishment of the Brabourne building. The teaching block was in a poor state of repair and a full refurbishment was required, taking place in phases whilst the building was still occupied and in use. Plantroom refurbishment and boiler replacement was required as well as many Classroom refurbishments and layout changes with the provision of new WC facilities.
The same design team was carried forward to complete Science Laboratory, Gymnasium and Changing Room refurbishments. These projects ran in tandem and have completed in 2019.
Minor works were completed to the School Gymnasium along with a complete refurbishment of the wet/dry changing facilities and Staff Office. The areas needed to remain operational throughout the works with care and consideration for building users.
The Science Laboratories project saw the refurbishment of nine Science Laboratories, Prep Room, Chemical Store and general Storage Rooms at Mountbatten School.
